Sports Engineering in Education

profession-1019736_960_720The aim of Sports Engineering in Education is to introduce and promote science, engineering and technology in sport to children in Key Stages 2 to 4 (with possible extension to other groups) using Sports Science and Engineering in multimedia teaching materials. Between 1998 and 2004, Cooke Associates produced four educational resources in association with the Lawn Tennis Association, the Institute of Physics and the Science Enhancement Programme: Sportscience and Engineering in Education (KS2-4), The Physics of Tennis (KS4-5), The Science of Tennis (tennis coaches) and The Physics of Spin in Sport (KS5 and beyond).

In 2012-2013, Mayden Foundation in association with the National STEM Centre at the University of York adapted the resources and made them available in the eLibrary on the National STEM Centre website.
